RhB-Galerien Alp Grüm, Ersatz
The Grüm galleries are located on the UNESCO World Heritage train route Thusis - Tirano of the Rhaetian Railway. The galleries were built in 1950 in lightweight, prefabricated concrete as asnow and avalanche protection, but their condition deteriorated badly in recent years and they had to be replaced. The new galleries manage to be robust with the chosen dimensions and yet retain the original filigree appearance of the gallery.
