Augusta Raurica, the most important Roman find in Central Europe with an extensive open-air museum, has been excavated for over 500 years. With the new archaelogical center, all departments, from research to restoration and marketing, are united under one roof for the first time. Despite the complex requirements, the architects developed an architectural system that is fully demountable and recyclable, while creating a strong spatial identity for the institution.
